- Who is eligible for ACM-RN certification?
- ACMA requires a valid, current nursing license in good standing and at least 2,080 hours of supervised paid work as a case manager, or in a role within its case-management functions, at a health delivery system. Candidates with under two years must give supervisor contact details and attest to at least one year of supervised case-management experience. Internships do not count.
- What is on the ACM exam?
- Two components. The first is core case-management questions for RN and social-work case managers in a hospital or health system. The second is discipline-specific clinical simulations that test applied judgment. You earn ACM-RN or ACM-SW after meeting eligibility and the required passing scores.
- When can I take the ACM exam?
- Either pay ACMA's expedited premium to test within the next three months, or apply by a quarterly deadline: November 15 for January to March, February 15 for April to June, May 15 for July to September, and August 15 for October to December. Missing your assigned window forfeits the fees.
- ACM vs CCM: which should I get?
