Questions about the calculator

How does the medical VA pay calculator work?

It multiplies your hourly rate in US dollars by your hours a week and by 4.33 weeks a month (52 weeks over 12 months), takes off the transfer or platform fee you enter, and converts the rest at the exchange rate shown. The result is an estimate of monthly pay before income tax.

Where do the exchange rates come from?

Each default is the US dollar rate published by that country's central bank or official source, with the date it applies to, reviewed Oct 2026. Rates move every day, and your bank or payment platform will use its own, so type the rate it quotes you into the exchange rate field.

Does the result include tax?

No. Income tax, social contributions and the rules for contractors paid from abroad differ by country and by how you are engaged. Check with your country's tax authority or a tax adviser before you rely on a figure.

What hourly rate should I enter?

The rate in your offer, contract or job posting. RemoteNurse does not publish pay figures for medical VA work, and the default rate is a round example, not a typical wage.

Is RemoteNurse an employer or an agency?

No. RemoteNurse trains people for remote healthcare desks. It does not hire, place or pay medical VAs, and this calculator only does arithmetic on the numbers you give it.

Before you take an offer

The medical VA guide covers the five steps into the work and the free courses for each desk. The guides answer the questions that come up in interviews, and the free invoice maker bills a client without an account.
